I am running a 3000rpm 466 ih p pump 3x3 charger no cooler with stock truck pistons. What is too much for the pistons?? Like about what hp do they start to fail? Thanks in advance!

1000-1100hp is top end of stock pistons

i have a cooler on mine but im around 1250 hp and there not hardened and mine are just fine i also spin the motor bout 4500 to 5000 rpm

Whether you are talking about rods or pistons you are running on borrowed time.

i am talking bout pistons but also have stock rods in it that arent hardened and havent had any problems and have five years on them

my experience is that the pistons will be fine up to 1250, but the rods not so much... we ran our stock 466 piston 6 yrs... no signs of any problems, but we run a cooler and water inj....exhaust temps for the most part are cooler
