i dont think it came in any 2-wheel drive tractors so the only class you can use it in is unlimited super.

The 1160 came in the early 2255 Olivers, we had one.

3150 in the early 2255s and the 3208 in the later ones. What is the cubic inch of the 1160?
If it is 540 or less, I may be interested.

V-8 CAT 3160/1160 were 4.5" bore 5.0" stroke 636 cid.
V-8 CAT 3150/1150 were 4.5" bore 4.5" stroke 573 cid.
V-8 CAT 3145/1145/1140 were 4.5" bore 4.1" stroke 522 cid.
These engines were only manufactured in a naturally aspirated configuration from caterpillar. They used an inline scroll metering caterpillar fuel injector pump. The '3100' series was designated for industrial use while the '1100' series were for over the road use. They are in reality the same basic engine configuration other than crankshaft and matching pistons. They all share the same connecting rod length. Mostly due to the epa guidelines mandating more stringent guidelines for pollution control. These engines were all obsoleted with the introduction of the V-8 CAT 3208 4.5" bore 5.0"stroke 636cid.It used a sleeve metering caterpillar injector pump.
These 4.5" parent bore CAT V-8 diesel engines were the equivalant to the smallblock chevrolet. There were many subtle differences incorporated through its production.

In agricultural tractors it was used by the following manufacturers:
Steiger Bearcat CAT3208
Massey Ferguson 1505/1805 CAT3208
White 2-180,4-150,4-175,4-180,and 4-210 CAT3208
White 4-225 CAT3208 Turbo
Oliver 2255 Late production CAT3208
Oliver 2255 Early production CAT3150
Massey Ferguson 1500 CAT3150
Massey Ferguson 1800 CAT3160

Was also installed in New Holland combines and Field Queen forage choppers

Not to be a jerk but it sure seems like you are jumping the gun a little [a lot]
1. Figure out what engine you've got
2. Figure out what club you want to pull with
3. Figure out what class you want to pull in
4. Figure out if its legal for that class [some classes don't allow v8 engines]
5. Figure out what tractor it came in
..... 5a. If it didnt come in a 2-wheel drive tractor then you can only build it open super stock [is that what you want?]
6. Figure out how much you will need to buy and how much you can build yourself
7. Figure out if you budget lines up with 1-6
