ih c301/chevy big block 366 pistons head gasket too small March 16, 2013 01:34AM
im gonna put 366 big block chevy pistons in my c301 and now that the block is bored bigger for the pistons the head gasket is too small on one side of the bore. Anyone else run into this issue while running this setup? Or is there i company out there that has already made a bigger gasket to fit this. Thanks to anyone that can help.

Is your head fire ringed?

look in the back of the puller. there are companies that make bigger gaskets. plus your side wall are thin now. I try to stay close to3.900"

Ran one 4.03" bore years ago, Clark Copper Head Gasket should have a pattern.

Lubbock Gasket 800 527 2064 use them before. they will fix you right up. Stay away from copper unless your running high compression unless you want to ring the block and put a receiver groove in the head. Lubbock doesn't make copper but will make a composite with compression rings.
