Ford 7810 motor ? February 21, 2009 11:42AM
I have a Ford 7810S that has what appears to be a Genesis block. I have been told that it is what they call a 401 Genesis. Does such a thing exist? Is it just a regular 401? or is it a 456? If there is such a thing as a Genesis 401, does it have the good head as the 456 Genesis?

Some of the first 456 the 401 stuff inside of them. As far as the head it should be a 456 one.

do you know what year your 7810s is

The 7810s is a 401 genesis engine same as the 7840 series all the other engines are 456. Everything is the same except the crank and pistons.

What is so special about the genesis head ? I am guessing better air flow and larger valves then the
401 head?

valves and flow-genesis exhaust valve same size as 401 intake, intake valve is that much larger!but if you want bigger injectors then drill injector bore from 7mm to 9mm.

to curt, what is the best motor, turbo ,pump combo for a 8000 in pro farm -hot farm ? open rpm 3x3, no cube limit? have 401 now, 401 needing rebuild, 456 478 , 474, 474 build bigger later, what best HP /dollar? tough to answer, you do now fords! thanks for any help

The truck block is going to be the cheapest route. You could get away with 4.5 bore and a 5.6 stroke without sleeving, that would get you around 540 cubes, Everything after that is going to get expensive. I would use a genesis head ported and polished, a gt-42 3x3 and a p-3000 13mm p-pump and a set of 5-25 columbus 474 truck injectors. Now if money was no object than we could have some fun.
