what horsepower range are the blown big blocks making in ntpa mod/unlimited classes with 8 71 and 14 71 respectively? ive heard vastly different numbers from different sources

Thats kind of depends on the condition of of the blowers, If they are good 8's and week 14's then not much. I can tell you of a test that was done with a 575 wedge and a 540 hemi with the same blower and the same overdrive and the difference was almost 300hp, After that they slowed the blower down on the hemi to the mod limit and there was still 150hp difference.

a couple years ago a top competitors mechanic claimed to me they were making 2800 out of 14-71 engines and they werent using the most agressive pulley... the way veney ran last year with 4 against 5 and 6 i wonder what he had to be making?
