Alright what about fire ringing the sleeves do I have to get some that don't have the water jacket around the top

8.1 sleeves are the same as the 404/466 sleeves as far as design. Call any shop for head gasket/fire ring kit and they will tell you size for the grooves. Are you planning on running it in stock form as 496 ci then? Were you going to grind cam or leave it stock?

It's going to be a stock 496 with a box charger and pump cranked up for now till I get money to do the rest charger made 70 psi on 466 that was the only concern

Not sure as I would worry about the cam as much as the crank gear, wouldn’t hurt to weld gear to crank in about 3 places

If you didn’t want to cut grooves in sleeves, you could get a head gasket from sealtec with drop in fire rings
