Bill- was it a gear reduction or high torque design? I bought a reman'd starter on line and it doesnt have enough give to turn my engine. Pull start it and it runs instantly. |

We put a high torg reduction to save weight, but a stock starter should spin it fine.

Heck yes. Please send me a picture when you get around the shop. Resend the 4.25 sleeve blank part number again as well. Lost that information. Thanks. |

Ktp560, Tell us what flywheel you are using and machine work measurement? What's your recipe for this? I have a lemon starter and it will crank this stock dt466 engine just fine on my 460 farmall...... when it EVER engages the flywheel. Grinds and makes the awfullest noise. You cringe when you hit the start button because you think the starter is going to fall off! Lol The end of the shaft moves around when you pull it out and push back and forth on it.... does anyone think that these starters may not be as good as they used to be? Maybe the quality has dropped off a bit? Thanks |

Its a High torque starter and I think it weighs about 19lbs |
