Which casting number head would be best for a big cubic inche na gas at 3000 rpm 400 series . I have a 883 and a 426 castings . I used a 426 on a 466 on gas and it ran great.

What do your rules allow? Factory casting numbers allowed? I have a Maxxforce 24 valve cylinder head that would make a fantastic for you. 608-317-7321 Call or text with questions.

I don't think a 24v head would fly. They threw a fit because I used a diamond marked truck block .

I don't think anyone know the answer to this question.

There is no answer to that question. If you ask which performs better stock on stock engine you may get an answer. And most common answer is 426 is better. And that answer could be argued between owners of each.
The total combination makes the difference in the heads. Running them is the real way to know. Depending on which valves you use and if one is ported different then it will run different. Just saying one thing different in your engine could be the factor on which head works better.

I have had good luck with a 426 head on a big cube NA. I would be willing to sell the complete engine if you are interested.
