I usually track the Competitor List each year. Most these guys are trying to get in the harvest and prepare for winter. Also they are updating and refreshing the tractors. They just wait to file application to closer to make sure they have tractors ready. You save $35 to apply by Oct 11th and you save $15 to file by Nov 15th. So I figure you will see a fair bit come in this week, but still only $15 more bucks to wait it out to couple weeks before the pull. Only issue would be if the class fills up.
Don't forget the pull is backed off 2 weeks. This will allow them to wait a bit longer to commit to running. I think the numbers look decent for this far out. Klint can probably give you a better idea, but that is my thoughts on it. Thank You, Justin Bennett |

Harvest has been slow this fall. The corn just isn't drying down for most of us. Soybeans have been coming out slow the last few weeks, do to the rains. I think we are going to be a down this year in the Light Limited Super class. They had a hard time last year on our track. They are always unhappy with the weight of the class. I don't know how much longer we will offer the class. It is a shame that class was one of them that got us started. But we have had several classes approach us about pulling a Gville. (2.6 Diesel FWD, Altered Farm, ITPA 58 Mods.) The Super Farms might be a little short as well. Just not many of them in the area anymore. The 4.1 Limited Pros locally are choosing not to support the event this year. I made them all mad at the Farm Progress Show in August by allowing 4 or 5 Light Pros to pull them. They didn't think it was fair. The red pro stocks in the state just wont come pull with us no matter what we do. I guess our little pull just isn't prestigious enough and we have came to accept that. In fact they also encourage other pullers in other classes not to support the event or ANY INDOOR EVENTS. I just feel bad for the red fans that look forward to our events, we keep letting them down every year. I don't think I will ever get all the Pros in Illinois together. I have tried for 10 years, and still haven't put them down the same track together. I guess we will just keep trying, maybe someday. I am confident we will get enough tractors in the next six weeks, we will be able to put on a good show this winter. I want to thank everyone that supports this event. We look forward to seeing everyone in January. Take care and have a safe completion of harvest. |

I like diesel pickups as much as anybody, but all they're going to do at Gordyville is make me drunker due to the more time it takes to maneuver them around.. |

I think it would be a good show to let the pro farms from itpa and ipa pull at farm progress show pull cause they put on a really good show indoor or outdoors |

Klint keep up the great work! I'm in the combine waiting for snow to melt off as I write this. I'll push to get some Mich super farms rounded up after harvest.
Thanks again Rob. |

I think they would run into problems with fumes there if they had full classes of TWDs or Minis. Jesse Post JP Pulling Productions |

Fumes would be overwhelming and the upwards exhaust headers from the supercharged V-8 blow the lights around in the ceiling, then the building owners get a little fussy. Thanks for the suggestion. |

Me personally, I didn't mind the 4 or 5 light pros in our class in Decatur. they may have 100-200 more horse than the top 4.1's, but it took torque on that awesome track. They may dominate on crappy tracks but hey, that's part of pulling. Keep up the good work Klint. |

The poster said that some classes are a little short, not the entire weekend. There is a difference.
You wouldn't say that numbers are short at Bowling Green--but you would say that the Open Super numbers are short in comparison to SF and TWD. Looking forward to pulling the pro farm in January! Also have to agree that our Pro Farm class would be great at the farm progress show! Would also be a good event to look at the 2.6 diesel trucks. |

You have to ask? Klint is probably tired of pulling his hair out dealing with the crybabies and cheaters in that class. Easier to say what the hell and let them fight it out. |

I have had communication with Krystal Frerichs, she is a Gifford resident. She said the center of town was hit pretty hard. The building we pull in wasn't effected. I hope everyone can pull together and get through this disaster. My hometown (Pekin) was were the damage started that has destroyed neighborhoods in several towns along its path to the Chicago area. Lots of people tonight are just in shock. This years pull was going to be centered around some charity efforts near and dear to our hearts. After todays damaging storms we will be in planning stages of some form additional effort to help out those effected in the Gifford area today. Take care, Klint |
