You may want to ask for pics before the body shop. I heard you spend as much at the body shop as you do with binder lite. Anybody out there no if that is true

Re: pictures of binderlite nose cones November 19, 2013 11:36AM
Are you expecting show quality paint for the Maaco price? Binder Lite has done a lot of good looking tractors. They remain one of the few shops in this sport that will get things done for the price they quoted, when they say it will be done.

Yes you will spend as much at bobyshop so factor that in but places to get it are limited!!

Re: pictures of binderlite nose cones November 19, 2013 11:47PM
I HAVE SEEN TWO TRACTORS THAT DONT HAVE ANY BODY FILL ON THEM. BOTH TRACTORS LOOK GOOD AND NOT DONE BY BINDER LITE. FROM WHAT THE OWNERS TOLD ME CHEAPER AND WAY BETTER QUALITY

Re: pictures of binderlite nose cones November 20, 2013 12:08AM
I don't care who you get to do the work. When you take a flat piece of metal and start to shape and form it, in the end it all will have body filler in it. And if you can't tell that you have know ideal what you are looking at.

Re: pictures of binderlite nose cones November 20, 2013 02:53AM
not trying to start anything but i am just wondering before i buy any from them or go with the oem hood. How is the binder lite sheet metal legal when all the rules say it has to be stock demensions and there isnt to many tractors out there that are buy that rule. Is this actually a problem or just something that nobody cares about, just dont want any problems after i buy some and have some one protest it, thanks for the help.

They will make what ever you want!

Re: pictures of binderlite nose cones November 20, 2013 06:00AM
Well I have to say our two tractors one has very little and the other has none. Good primer but no and I repeat no body filler on the second nose was done. These are the only two this guy has ever done. I think they look great. Go to NYTPA and look at the patience tractors. If you want one let me know. Rich Horton

Ever thought of gettinger fiberglass?

Re: pictures of binderlite nose cones November 20, 2013 07:34AM
I thought about fiberglass but I was worried about it getting hit by rocks and chipping going down the road

Re: pictures of binderlite nose cones November 20, 2013 12:45PM
load it backwards. or maybe some plywood.

Re: pictures of binderlite nose cones November 20, 2013 01:38PM
Binderlite does great work and they have been the gold standard in this motorsport for a long time now. Complicated hoods with compound bends are amazingly difficult to make perfect. Squarer hoods still take some serious craftsmanship to make them look correct. Almost anything will take a little filler to make perfect.

Rich Horton posted on this thread and while it's true that he himself doesn't need anymore filler, and sure he's got a few extra waves/dents but even though he's not good looking his families two tractors sure are. The Super Stock pictured was making it's second pass and was still in primer (Rich won the hook with that pass by the way). I've seen both tractors in person and the sheetmetal work on them is top notch. Rich is a great guy and I wouldn't hesitate to get in touch with him to talk about tin work.

Side Note: We are no longer accepting PayPal donations. They have changed their terms of service and stated they would fine PayPal users for spreading "misinformation" and "hate, violence, racial or other forms of intolerance that is discriminatory". PayPal did not provide definitions for some of these vague terms. Woke corporate policies regarding "misinformation" could result in an automatic fine of $2,500 which would have been removed directly from the customer’s PayPal account. PayPal did backdown from some of their policies but quietly implemented portions of them in later terms of service. A financial institute has no right to monitor social media accounts or speech. This is unacceptable and I'll no longer do business with PayPal.
