What are the best pistons to put in a 466? It is going to be a box 3LM turbo tractor running 3000 rpms. It is a 468 roller engine. It will have a A pump if that matters. Thanks for any help. |

I would run the pistons that came out of the 468. |

I have to replace them bc the are scored. I didn't know if any other pistons would be better. If not I will put stock back in |

Whats your point not guilty,we are talking about pistons-so anyone running billet is not illegal then. |

Not Guilty

And that big monstrosity of an intake manifold that a lot of Deere's use for pulling that is used on a boat is an AG application?
I rest my case your honor. |

Navisatar tractors

That'd be your best bet use Navistar truck parts-- i mean why use oem IH AG parts that are legal? |

So we can smile and wave and take your money while you whine and wonder why we keep doing it and nobody else says anything :-) |

Would that be cheating? Depends on what the definition of "is" is. |

Coat your pistons
|
Seriously think about having the pistons coated if your scuffing them, cheap compared to taking it apart all the time. |

instead of coating the pistons just run a real good quality single weight racing oil such as Amsoil or Lucas 50 or 60 weight. Been through all the piston scuffing and coated pistons and such, changed oil and amazing how much difference. I know spending 30 dollars a gallon for oil sounds expensive but it's the cheapest performance part you will put in your engine. As far as your pistons go make sure you get a set with a low top ring, a lot of the new replacement pistons have the ring moved up on the piston which for one thing makes it difficult to get deep enough valve reliefs but also if you run real strong you will break the top off the piston above the ring which sucks when it goes through your exhaust wheel. |
