Anyone ever do this? Seems that they bid you up! There is a couple engines I bid on and the bid jumped way up on the ones I am watching but no one bid on the other engines.

Yes have bought there before,most times it was a good buy,some of the stuff is JUNK and people that buy a lot on there are close enough to the site to look at the items,I would guess that the high priced items were in good condition and that they had a high bid already placed,hope this helps.

Finding an 8.3 is gonna be tough. Most places want the core or will charge the extra couple thousand for the core. Best bet is to find junk yards with trucks, get one that way. I ended up with one from a member here and it saved me a lot. Came off a truck, ford fl8000 or something along those lines

Saw a couple ford truck engines at truck salvage yard .Don't know the size just 6 cylinder fords out of trucks Diesel maybe gray in color. On Hwy. 25 between Berea & Mt. Vernon Ky .Thorotruck wrecker & salvage 606-256-4099.Give them a call might be what u need Good old boy Gene is owner .

I have seen LOTS of 8.3 go to the grinder. Could buy all I can bring home........... nobody seemed to want any so I let them stay on the path to destruction

Its the same up here in mass. The local yard told me the same thing. They said they would sell me any running diesel for 4-500. They said that is more than its worth in weight and covers their time cutting it out. Weather its a 466 truck motor or a 8.3. You don't see them for sale on craigslist because they are getting crushed.

Really looking for just a 8.3 or 8.9 block, crank and rods and a 12 valve 8.3 head along with a A pump front cover and front pulleys. Looking to not spend more than core price as I am going to bore and resleeve and machine the block

One problem I can see is our goverment is demanding that tier 2 and older core blocks be destroyed before they go to scrap. Must have a hole smashed not cut in the block. Saw 3 8.1 deere blocks smashed and sent out to scrap last year. No way to save them.

Picked up the engines from oklahoma both are missing some front engine accessory (alt, fan belt, fan blades, maybe a idler) also missing starters and flywheel. Unknown what is wrong with them there's no info tags. They are complete from oil pan to head, with turbo. I am going to sell one engine complete pm me if interested
