Girdle Options???

I am building a tractor to pull in a class that allows open rpm on gas motors, i am building a gas, the trouble is it only has a 4 main block running wide open it will need some support on the bottom end. I have been trying to find someone to build a girdle because i doubt I'm going to find a used one. Trying to do this as efficiently as possible my question is, should i just break down and spend the money to have a girdle built? if so can a local machine shop handle that or would it be better to have someone who builds performance parts do it. Second is there any other options out there that will work? |

One from a 404 or 466 Deere will fit that block. Worst case you have to remove the part designed for the extra mains on the 404/466. 2 and 6 will probably clear the CW, #4 might have to go.
Do you have to use the 362 block? Do you have a CID limit? The 362 head will bolt to a 7 main block. I believe Scott Everett said on here that they once ran a 7 main diesel crank in a 4 main gas block. |
