4020 brakes

Just installed wilwood masters and removed stock ones can't get right side to pressure up just spungy and wont lock tire up. left side is good. tried bleeder bolt,just got worse any ideas? |

Try taking the final off the right side and pull the brake pad pistons out all the way just so it is in the bore of the cylinder. Then put the discs back in, line everything up, and put the final back on. This will make sure the master cylinder is not bottoming out before the piston and pad makes contact with the disc. Also it is recommended to not use hyd. oil with the master cylinders. The best thing to do is to replace all the O-rings in the brake pistons in the rear end with O-rings that will not disintegrate when they come in contact with the brake fluid. They can be found on Mcmasters. I had the same issue with mine and then eventually switched to outboard brakes. |

Ill give that a try something's gotta give! Would like to put external disk brakes on but runnin llss I'm strapped for weight. |

It's my understanding you lose 40 some pounds if you go with external brakes with the aluminum hats. |

What's the setup and where to get the parts for 4010, alum hats,brakes, how thick are the Mt. Flanges on the hats? You can call me 815-864-3555 thanks MB |

Call Tim at Engler Machine 812-386-6254 he's great to work with and can tell you everything you need for your individual setup. That's where I got mine, still in the process of installing them. |
