Our local club has a tire size rule of 18.4x42 or 20.8x38. 10,000 and 12000 lbs wieght 5mph speed limit. Which would be better. |

A 20.8-38 would be better, 90% of the time the tractor with 20.8 will out pull a tractor with 42's. If you compare a 20.8-38 to a 18.4-42 the 18.4-42 is only about inch and half taller than the 20.8-38, but the 20.8 is 2 inches wider |

Travis- I wanted to try a pair of 18.4-42 when I had my 1175, and never got to it. Seems speed is more important than traction at times, and the taller tire might give an edge in certain situations. Also, 18.4-42s are everywhere, and cheap. I happen to have a nice pair of Acuret radials that are a knock-off of the Powersavers, some say they are the same tire, that I would sell cheap, if you are interested in trying them. |
