The Program will accept up to 10 vehicles in the Mini Modified, Super Farm, Pro Stock, Light Super Stock, Super Stock Diesel, Super Stock Open, Super Semi, Two Wheel Drive Truck, Four Wheel Drive Truck, Modified, plus Light and Heavy Unlimited divisions. Free entry will be given to each pre-committed competitor at the NTPA Grand National and Super National point events including those at which a GN points class takes place at a Regional National Event (ex: Pro Stock Tractors are GN points at the Region III event in Dubuque, Iowa on July 23). A year-end pre-commitment payment will be paid to all competitors fulfilling the requirements for the NTPA Pre-commitment Program. A payment will be made to each qualifying, pre-commitment competitor in each division. Each pre-commitment competitor will earn monies for each hook that the competitor makes over the course of the 2014 NTPA Grand National schedule. For scheduled, one-hook events, a pre-commitment payment of $150 will be paid. For scheduled, two-hook events, $100 per hook will be paid. Pre-commitment competitors who fail to appear or make a measurable attempt at a particular event will not qualify for a pre-commitment payment for that session or sessions. At the 2014 NTPA Awards Banquet, a check will be awarded to each competitor who faithfully fulfilled their pre-commitment contractual agreement. If a competitor breaches the program during the season, that competitor’s earned pre-commitment monies will be divided among the remaining division participants who fulfilled the program. There is a contract between WPI/NTPA and each competitor; however no performance bond or up front monies (or back end monies) are paid to be involved in this program which has been around since 1989. Also, any competitor can chase the 2014 NTPA Grand National Points Title in their division. Their vehicle must be registered to receive GN points to be eligible. Any NTPA licensed competitor may run in an NTPA GN event/class if meeting all of the regulations and safety rules. Remember that if your favorite driver is not listed, it does not mean that he or she won’t be at an event near you! The list also is not our roster of NTPA pullers, but only those who have enrolled in the pre-commitment program. We will continue to fill spots available up until the first hook of each division. Once that occurs, the program is closed. Be sure to stay abreast of all of the news as it happens on ntpapull.com or facebook.com/ntpapulling. It should be another fantastic season as NTPA Championship Pulling celebrates 44 years of motorsports excellence! Next > AddThis |

what the heck

well well what has this pulling season brought us??? Well there is a very light number of tractors in all the super stock classes. Maybe we will see different winners in the light mod class with no bauer, wait bauers are not commited in any class thats a change. Maybe DOC should try the light class now he MIGHT win o wait the 2 junk yard chevs will not hold up to the hemis, thats what killed region 3 mods in the first place. This is really a change from past names hope extras show up to help out the promoters!!! |

The numbers in the super stock classes make me physically ill. Glad to see some names on the list and surprised that some aren't.

Simply because a team decides to not precommit does not mean that they aren't going to be at events. There is plenty of iron out there. Don't be surprised if a non precommit competitor wins the championship for a particular class. JW |

JW is correct just because a competitor is not on that list does not mean they will not be running NTPA, and yes, a nonprecommit can still win the points. Alot of pullers simply cannot "precommit" because of the time away from their businesses ie some in FWD. In fact I was approached and had to decline because of the lack of continuous help out on the road and the miles and money it entails. Either way there will be pullers and competitors this summer as always...out enjoying what they love to do when they can do it. Btw to the "what the heck" poster above, have you ever actually tried to run a MOD competitively out there on the circuit? Maybe you should do that 1st before you spout off your mouth..just sayin. Have a great summer! |
