Jerry, What organization are the mini-rods pulling with? Did these replace the PPL Unlimited Mods?

Last year the Fairfield, IL. fair had a date change that overlapped the traditional date Henry, IL. has. The PPL asked our group if we would consider letting the Mods go to Fairfield because a few of the Mod drivers put that pull on. It was believed that the overlap would some day change and we would get the Mods back. The Henry guys wanted to be decent about this and let the mods go. We were not forced into it by PPL as some have thought. Our guys are comfortable and will wait for the Mods return to Henry. The Mini Rods were added partly to help fill the void left with the Mods leaving, but Henry has always embraced the startup classes in the Silver Series, ie. Limited Pros and DSS4WD have been here from day one. Thank you for inquiring, hope you make it to Henry July 12th.

That is good background information to know. Being a team player will pay off in the end. It would be neat to bring back the semis again. Didn't know the mini-rods were part of the silver series as hadn't kept up with anything other than the champions tour. Thank you again and we will be there.

Mini Rods are a part of PPL's Silver Series. The SSD FWDs and Limited Pro Stocks are also a part of the Silver Series. List of competitors that more than likely will be there is here The PPL Super Mods have a hook in Fairfield, IL that night.

Jerry, What is the deal about some cop from New York City being honored at your pull sat.? Did he have something to do with post 9/11 stuff?

To Loretta. Yes there will be a New York Detective honored in Henry. He is one of the most highly decorated officers in NY City. Pres. Clinton gave him a medal in the White House for putting down two terrorists that were going to bomb a subway in NYC. Has consulted with numerous presidents about terror subjects. The local fire department is paying his way with his 3 sons to be in Henry the 12th. Know the guy. He is tough! Hope you meet him after the opening ceremony. Jread

Jerry, I know there is a lot of time between now and when the pull starts, but if you would be so kind as to give us an update later on today like you have done in years past, it would be greatly appreciated. We have had lots of rain all night further south of you all and still this morning. Just trying to plan appropriately for travels. Thank you once again and hope we get to be there.

Henry IL Rain Update. We just had about an inch of rain. The map shows it clearing off in about an hour. We can easily handle the rain we just had. The tracks were packed tight last night and the water is running off. We have pulled with a 3" rain in the morning before, so therefore we are in good shape. I will keep posting through out the day. We do not want people to drive miles to be disappointed, so I will be honest about the conditions. Many pullers here now. I will try and post again about 10:00 A. M. Thank you! Jerry
