Water idiot light July 01, 2014 02:12AM
What are you guys using for the idiot light sensor to know the water inj turned on? I was running a sensor from napa for low oil pressure on a car but it keeps blowing apart under inj pressure. Thanks

I got mine from Zoro tools. Just put it on tho, so not sure if it will hold up either

Use a case 1840-1845 back up light sensor. That will only show you on not off like the one Simpson sells. They are both nason brand or order one that has has a n/o and n/c so you have an on and off light.

I'm using a pressure switch to turn water on at a desired boost pressure. And I have a indicator light wired to the same pressure switch.

Exactly as simple said works perfect

Re: Water idiot light July 01, 2014 07:15AM
Do you have a brand of switch, a part number, or the place to get this switch?

www.mcmaster.com - look up presure switch then take your pick

The bad thing about wiring right to the pump switch if you do run a 12v system is do you have water pressure. That's why most would have two switches so you know there is water pressure in the line.

Any type of pressure switch. Grainger

Re: Water idiot light July 01, 2014 11:15AM
Wire it to the same switch you youse to turn on water

Re: Water idiot light July 01, 2014 11:28AM
I used a nitrous switch from summit racing works good you can adjust to your selected pressure

Re: Water idiot light July 02, 2014 09:29AM
You have to be careful with pressure selection when the switch is installed in the water injection manifold or line. I had my switch into a manifold that my lines came out of. Boost would back feed into the water injection nozzles and pressurize the manifold making the switch to close and trip the light.

is this the switch # your using? July 03, 2014 07:46AM
Nitrous Express # 15943 from summit or Jegs for $135? Did you put it on a Simpson water setup? What does a Simpson water setup run for PSI? How long has switch lasted?

Cant recall part number i just asked for a adjustable nitrous switch . i had it on a 12 volt hydralic pump and it worked great never had any issue with it and it lasted 4 seasons, when i sold the tractor it was still on it.

A/C pressure switch from parts store. less than 10 bucks take your pick on pressure 12 volt to one side put light on other. ( get a normally open switch)
