How to lower an IH 66 front end March 26, 2009 12:42AM
We are putting together a 1066 for a open rpm 466 class. We want to get the front end down lower to the ground, but there are rules about being stock. It says stock style front axle and no Pinto steering. I sould have paid more attention at the indoor pulls this winter. I know I saw the stock axle tube on tractors that were lower to the ground than ours. Is there a way to loose that yoke part and make one tie rod? Any suggestions to stay within the rules? Thanks

yes, take out the power steering bolster and make a bracket to move yoke up, then use a 12" hydr cylinder attached at one to stock tube and the other to a straight rod connecting the tie rods.

Does anyone make a kit for this?
