Tractor bounce July 30, 2014 03:37PM
This year I put cut tires on 20.8 firestones they are at there end in rubber and are pretty thin. all year if I get on a hard hooking track it bounces im running at 16 lbs am I wrong on air pressure or should I try something else. thanks for the input

Re: Tractor bounce July 30, 2014 03:45PM
Not the best answer, but u can't bounce a flat basketball. Worth a try taking some air out I guess?

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 01:00AM
Have never ran cut tires but we used to have that problem. We increased pressure slowly until bounce went away. Effectively taking away unnecessary side wall flex.

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 01:11AM
Would adding more tire pressure take away traction to let tires spins easier?

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 01:31AM
Bouncing is caused by a few different things. would have to see a video to adress corectly. Driving, track conditions, weighting, and tire pressure are all posibilities or a combination of them.

Its a stock frame I'm front heavy weighing 9500-9800 tires flex hard as I bounce I ride clutch out till I'm rolling and dump it tracks it does it on are hard tracks black dirt or clay

I'll attach a video later

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 05:32AM
[www.youtube.com]

This one does it as im letting clutch out this past weekend clutch was out before bounce and it carried the hole way

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 06:19AM
With bounce that early in the run it's most likely your clutch slipping and nothing your going to do with you tire psi will really fix that. What are you running for a clutch? Straight shaft or T/A?

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 06:47AM
Atlas sfi 2 disc 22 passes since freshened it has a ta but it locked in height I don't shift

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 07:03AM
I would agree on clutch. What is the chance that the throw out bearing isn't allowing the clutch to fully engage?

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 07:59AM
I'll check it tonight

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 08:29AM
Yep, definetly something going on in clutch. Once it bounced once and your foot is still on pedal, you are only making it worse cause your pushing the clutch back in at every bounce. I'd try side stepping that prick once the chains tight and you've got boost.

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 10:03AM
Dropping a gear wouldn't hurt.

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 11:39AM
Just an observation, but that sled doesn't look like it takes off very easy from the line on that video, that's probably not helping your clutching/bouncing problem.

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 12:58PM
I agree clutch. How many runs on it.

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 01:36PM
22 runs on clutch and a straight shaft is on my bench for winter project I appreciate allbthe help

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 11:43AM
Its not just that sled its Bauer sled track patrol all of them

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 12:40PM
It's your clutch

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 12:46PM
A 2 disk clutch isn't going to hold if your making the power you should with that setup. And just cuz you don't shift your TA doesn't mean that it's not going to slip.

Been there broke that...

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 02:15PM
What will a two disk be good for dairy blend outta curiosity

Re: Tractor bounce July 31, 2014 06:33PM
About all a 2 disk is good for anymore is farmstock, anything hotter you won't get much life out of it. I'll say it is your clutch too, what disks are you running, buttons or Crower (sintered iron)? Depending on your 2 disk from Atlas you may be able to add a 3rd disk to it, call Karl and see what he can do for you.

Re: Tractor bounce August 01, 2014 03:14AM
Pretty sure its button not 100% and yes if I change stands I can go to 3 disc but my housing is not ground out for it

Re: Tractor bounce August 01, 2014 02:57AM
Check your clutch plate for warpage bet that's the culprit? Slipping clutch makes it worse.

Re: Tractor bounce August 01, 2014 03:40AM
They r crower

Re: Tractor bounce August 01, 2014 06:56AM
Just wandering if you still have the slave cylinder on? if you do take it off same thing happened to a guy I know

Re: Tractor bounce August 02, 2014 01:22AM
