Bosch Inline pump identification September 09, 2014 12:20PM
Can anyone help me understand what all the numbers and letters on my injection pump mean?
It is on a 4630 John Deere and is an A Pump. I checked with JD Parts and it is the OEM pump
On the rear of the pump is a plate with this sequence
EP7RSV400...1100A2B660 D

And on the side of the pump is this:
PES6A 100D410 RS3020

thanks for the space morgans

The 6 in the 4th position is the number of cylinders.
The A in the 5th position indicates it's a A pump.
The 100 in the 6th thru 8th position indicate that it was built with 10.0 mm plungers.

Those are the ones I know. I think the RS3020 might have something to do with the governor.

Thank you. That helps me out a ton.

The rsv on the rear tag identifies the governor as an ag type governor. The 400 and 1100 values indicate factory rpm settings. Remember- inline pumps run at 1/2 actual engine rpms. Because of this, your governed rpm range would actually be 800 to 2200 engine rpms.

RS3020, the R is right hand rotation, the 3020 is the pump number designation. That is a 10mm pump, but JD uses retard to start notches on the plungers, which aren't very good to have in a pulling pump.

Thanks for the help guys. What do those retard notches effect if its already running?

as you lug down with the fuel turned up too far, the retard notches retard the timing about 10* all of a sudden! Not a good thing!

I think it has done such a thing. Sounds like its engine braking while pulling?
