N/A 466 build ideas? September 21, 2014 01:44AM
Curious on what you can do to a naturally aspirated 466 block to make some decent power. I've heard people talk about it but figured if ask you guys on here. I'm interested in putting this engine into a 560. Will a dt570 crank fit into the 466 block? If not how much work do ya have to do to stroke the crank to 5 3/4" and do ya have to do anything to the block/cam for clearance? Being it's naturally aspirated what would be the ideal compression ratio? Stock pistons or overbore? What kind of rod options? I'm thinking it would be in the 3000 rpm range. Thanks for any input!

Using stock rods you will have to clearance the block.
We sell piston kits for that app. they have a lot of torque at 3000 rpms.
stroking the crank to 5.750 is not a problem to have done.
