trans and differential lube December 12, 2014 11:01AM
Would automatic transmission fluid work good for a pulling tractor transmission and differential or what would you guys recommend?

I use synthetic 80W-90.

No automatic trans fluid has friction modifiers in it

Re: trans and differential lube December 13, 2014 09:07AM
yes your right never thought of that for the clutches , I am just looking for something light in weight that will not be influenced by cold weather making it thicker, its a track only tractor

Re: trans and differential lube December 13, 2014 10:10AM
I use 80w90 full synthetic it stays thin and is probably not much thicker than 50 w raceing oil

Re: trans and differential lube December 13, 2014 01:19PM
what about hytran or other bands of hydraulic oil. We use hytran in all our farm tractors and the older ones that were using 80 90 oil shift and drive better in cold weather and holds up well as far as wear on parts

Tried hytran in our 66 this year and the diff did not like it at all. 466 p pump 3x3 pro farm. Was told to use a 80-90.

6 cylinder puller,

Send me your make and model number of the tractor you are looking for rear end and transmission oil and I will help you with an AMSOIL synthetic oil recommendation. If the AMSOIL 75W90 EP Gear Oil is the recommended oil for your application you will be amazed at the cold flow properties it possesses.

We use the AMSOIL 75W90 (SVG) in the transmission (Pro-Fab) and rear-end (Eaton-Rockwell) of Hurricane Allis and get along with it very well.

You can contact me at tadomann@yahoo.com or 913-433-4826.

Thank you, Todd Domann
