White - 8.3 cummins December 30, 2014 12:13PM
Trying to find information on White tractors with cummins engines in a pulling application. Which models, and engines to look for. Builders, and parts contacts.
How light can they be made, is there any one out there that has a replacement frame to get away from the heavy cast one? Looking into trying something different around here and would be looking for a 3000 rpm hot farm platform. Any info would be greatly appreciated . Thanks.

I read that thread, im hoping to spark up any new or different White builds that have or are being done. Hoping some engine/ trans guys will get on here and show case there stuff.

I am slowly building a 2-160 with the BB cummins. Yoru choices are slim in aftermarket parts.

Thanks for the heads up. What about drive train? Is the rearend easy to work like removing pto ect?

I had to make nearly everything for the 8.3 I had. Modern Machine did make me a set of straight cut timming gears & Eddie Kerr had us some nice roller rockers made. I made the oil pan & front timming cover as well as the girdle & manifolds. I'd start with an 8.9 ISL block if I were going to do it over.

No limits mfg. can build the cam and other parts as well. Its all how much $$$$$ you want to spend. The total draw back to the 8.3 is the head. WISHsome one would come up with a design like hypermax did with the IH. I would buy one in a heartbeat if they could make it flow good and be cast like the oem
