is there a easy way of a top cover for 560 to lighten it or just completely do away with it and build shift rails to cover it? anyone have pictures |

There's a guy in Indiana that makes aluminum covers, thought I had a number for him, but I can't find it. Somebody on here will know who it is, I think his name is Adam? On my M, I cut the platform off right behind the shift rails, left the front half on, made a tin cover for the back half. Took off about 60 pounds. I think with some patience a guy could make a sheet metal cover and attach the rails to it. |

Just make your own out of angle iron and sheet metal, it's not difficult. |

Kole, last I knew there was a place right there in Springfield Mo that made exact replacement out of aluminum. I don't have their ph# but I'm sure someone on this site probably does. |

I have a custom gear shifter set up for a IHC 656 think same as 560 Farmall made by Modern Machine it has solid bottom shaft and all custom gears that are replaceable has a top plate custom gear shift three rail with forks very nice part gears are broke not all. Ran hard for three years over hundred passes these parts are trick went to Pro Fab. Spare parts now, sell all for $500.00 tax man is going to love this loss shaft would cost more than this. I would not want to buy that shifer top with fork sliders and forks be over $1000.00 then behind shifter we used thin steel plate not for sell call for info 937-368-2447 Barney. |

Can you tell me the actual weight difference between a Camm aluminum cover VS. the stock cast cover?
Thanks, Jim |

aluminum should weigh about 33% of steel. I cut behind gear shift built back out of angle iron and sheet metal works good makes it easy to get into rear end also can work on tranny with out taking off roll cage. |

Adams stuff is top notch does good work haven't seen bobs work but I think a cast top would look coold since its more like original. |
