C-rings increase hold with increased pressure. Lemke has their own.

C rings are more expensive, around $100 each but they can be re torqued many times. Wire rings can only be torqued once, they are $10 to $14 each.

C rings do work far better than the fire rings with increased boost and power. Does anyone know where else you can get them. I just got a set from R.E.I. and they were 110. OO each . Would be nice to find them a little less.

Someone is putting the screws to you if your paying $10-$14 each for fire rings. The last sets I bought from Seal Tec were $3 or $4 each.

What is the advantage to c-rings over fire rings. Is it they can handle more boost if so where is the advantage point 150 lbs of boost or more??? There is a big price difference so how do you justify spending that much more for them?

Re: Fire rings or C-rings??? January 30, 2015 02:50AM
My fire rings held pretty good to 90 lbs. of boost. A charger change moved it up to 105 and the fire rings would only last 2 or 3 runs. No problems with the C-rings.

C rings are reusable, cylinder pressure increase improves seal.
Had a guy tell me once fire rings are reusable if not blown. Why fix it if it ain't broke. Straight block, head, sleeves and good head bolts are
just as important.

Fire rings $48, freight 13, total 61. I think that is fairly close to $10 each. Freight isn't usually free.
