HP limit for stock 1066 clutch

Looking to know if anyone knows the limit for the stock clutch on a 1066. I have acquired a 1066 that I plan to pull with and use for light farm work. Any help would be appreciated. I know you can buy aftermarket. But let's try to keep the topic to max HP the clutch will hold.
Forgot to mention we are looking at 2800-2900 rpm. |

I assume you are talking about a NEW stock type clutch? That would be stock flywheel, single disc with a reman cover. I have run a HyCapacity clutch with 15 black springs, a single disc with 12 pads on each side. I have never had it slip in a 12,000# weight, with 450-500Hp. The pedal is tough to push, not so nice in the field, but great on the track. |

Also, how about the torques? Will they hold up to the same if the pressure is shimmed up? |

A heavy duty reman TA from Allied or HyCapacity will easly hold 400 hp. From there you can get specific pulling rated TAs that will handle 750/ |

I was really looking into Kenny's dual disk clutch. I am planning for about 500hp before too long. |

A stock clutch will take a fare amount of power. But if your buying new from a dealer save that money and put a steel flywheel in. Do it right if your gonna pull it. It's just not worth running a cast flywheel, to many bad things have happened running a cast flywheel. |

Where can you buy just a steel flywheel? Can you run them with stock pressure plate and friction disk? |

So, could I mount factory parts to an sfi rated steel flywheel? |

To be legal, you have to have every thing in the clutch STEEL. Most factory clutch parts are CAST. Bad things CAN and have happened under 3000 rpm. Heat is another factor to put up with. Pressure plate is cast. You may want to run a different class some time, that require SFI clutch set up. Do it right the first time. Will save you money later. |

Like Yanmar said bad things can happen. All you have to do is google flywheel explosions, same on youtube. Life is to precious to even think about trying to save a little money when it comes to cast vs. steel. Thank you! |

Yea, I have seen some bad things. I was unaware that they were other cast parts. Thought that maybe there were pressed or machined steel. Thanks for the input. |
