ether starting system March 25, 2015 02:22AM
Anyone using the kats system for starting your tractor? Looking for something to use so I can start tractor by myself.

I am interested as well. Cannot always have an groupie with me to help start my diesel pullers and it is risky finding the closest volunteer. Thanks!

years ago I had used the system you might find on a typical ag tractor? fired in just on front of turbo? worked... but was never comfortable with having the can under the hood so close to the motor? small fire could lead to a much bigger fire? I understand some Orgs. have rules against any kind of compressed container under the hood? actually having a willing bystander do the honour? has worked quite well! usually makes their day!

Would the ether can have to be under the hood?? Seems you could locate it anywhere on the tractor, just wires and a bit of tubing.

Go to john deere and get a either system. Use 1/8 pipe and -3 lines and fittings with a 40 water nozzle in front of turbo. Cheap and effective. Mount in your dash or fire wall very simple!

If you get creative you can put a restricting nozzle in the intake and just flip your ether on with a toggle switch. this has become a necessity with super stocks

I put an ether system on mine, but it's actually full of propane. It helps it to start, but it also helps me down the track if you know what I mean. Winking
