Do you have to hardend jd rods or will a stock rod hold up? For an open rpm p pump tractor and is it a good choice to get better rod bolts or will stock work just fine? Thanks for the input guys

Stock jd rods are good up to 4000 rpm or so, stock rod bolts are good as long as you replace at each tear down.

Thanks yeah I think I'll try to find a place that can harden them, do you guys have any suggestions where to send them and a ball park figure on how much it will cost?

The Buckeyecrewcab price might include re-sizing both ends. Ya can't just harden and think you can throw them back in. You need to re-size both ends, re-tap the bolt holes, new bushings, then hone bushings to size. It don't cost much to harden, its the before and after that costs money!
