can a farmall 560 rear be built strong enough for llss? if so, who are some builders that can do it? |

I believe Jeff Medley's old tractor was a 560 rear end but it was loaded down with billet parts. so apparently it can be done but probably pretty expensive. |

Jeff,s tractor was a 666 or 656 same thing, My tractor Sipes Tim Fox Greg Jones and lots of others use 560,s the others use the 666 some is still using the 460 rear Atlas can make anything you need if your wanting one I will sell you mine it has atlas gears and input shaft Kennys flywheal and 4 disc clutch and kennys diferential Midwest wheals 8ply pullers DT361 engine new steal rods, aries pistons, roller rockers Vogel Cam and is turning 6000rpm in a 22to one gear But back to the question a 706 rear can be used if you want to spend a lot of cash to get it light enough |

BUT you can spend a lot of cash on billet parts to get 460/560 666/686 to live. My "66 series" with a 706 rear in it weighs 5300 bare with all fluids in it |

common sense

This thread is making me laugh my ass off!!
A while back, the topic of components was raised for LLSS, and most people went ballistic over it. Ruin the class, too expensive, blah blah blah...... Here we are discussing two seperate items that absolutely point to the validity of the issue: 1. How can I make a light enough trans and rear durable? Answer - plenty of custom and billet parts......hmmm, that's not expensive! 2. How can I make a 706 rear light enough for the class? Answer - plenty of custom parts and lots of billet aluminum, plus shave the cast until it's paper thin.......hmm, that's not expensive, and cetainly sounds safe! The story is like this - it will always be expensive, but which is the smarter way, high $$ work around on an cast rear, or easily sourced and servicable component parts? Bash away boys, just pointing out facts. |

I wish this class was in southern pa, md, va area. I think it would draw pullers if it was. |

Jeff's first tractor that Ed Shoo bridge has now was a 460 rearend. The second one was a 666 rearend. |

No big deal
|
Put a 560 in it with a pro fab. Get a set of bull pinions and ride. There are 560s woth 414 blocks making 6000 with out having to do all that work to a 706. If you want to run component that's fine there is a class for you but it's not this one. LLSS is growing as
Fast as any class in the country what the guys in KY are doing should be modeled everywhere! |

Mo guys

Don't forget about the Missouri guys. This light class has been around for years and years. I would say the granddaddy of the light class is from central Missouri. Anyone that knows pulling knows Gary horstmeier and his son Darren have done a lot to promote this fun and exciting class. |
