Governor spring for stanadyne pump
|
Where can I find different springs for my stanadyne rotary pump? I want something for 3000rpm |

Roosa

If you have the pump apart, leave out two governor weights across from each other. |

A roosa master will actually put out more fuel at less rpms. Try running at 2800 or 2600 even. At 3000 rpm the shoes in the pump can't open up enough to get make fuel unless you run really high inlet pressure. This my experience I may be wrong. |

Any stanadyne pump shop can get you the springs. The one I use in my builds for 3000 rpm is the 17997. There's a lot more to my builds than just a spring, but that one gets me the rpms. |

I'm running a 360 pump on a 560 with a d301 in it, I cannot get that thing to blow smoke unless it drops below 18-1900 rpm |

If you have the factory squirt into a cup type injectors in it you will see very little smoke even if you run a DB450 head and rotor. Did this 30 years ago. Until you direct inject you will not see heavy smoke unless you remove the turbo. When you do direct inject the power will be dramatically increased if done correctly. Then you will have to figure out a new way to keep a head gasket in it. |
