Information on building a 414 into a farm stock
|
We have been pulling in the classic but would like to pull farm stock. We have a 414 out of a 966 what would be the best way to build it any advice/info appreciated. Thanks |

Go ahead and build a big motor because the one who win already have. You can spend a pile with those rules. There is a hot farm class near me the only rules is 3000 rpm and some run a 680 cube with a 4.1 turbo |

I'm on somewhat of a budget what would it take to turn my 414 into a 466. That's around what most of the guys are using |

Tyler where are you located? And make sure with that 414 out of that 966 has piston oilers. Otherwise you will be rebuilding it all the time running a turbo. |

I am located in Bedford Pennsylvania. Ok the engine is completely original never touched. Being we need the oilers what is the best Pistons for a decent price to go with |

If every body else is running a 466 just go and find a 466 out if a late 80/early90s truck (89-92)
Others 466 will work but these are better and go that route. And put your covers on it and pump and turbo |

J 466 is right. I wouldn't even mess around with that 414. You can find cheap 466 engines out there. |

Thanks for the info guys. I found a neighbor with a 91 466 truck hasn't gotten me a price yet. If I get what's the best way to get 800-1000 hp thanks for the help |
