the large 4 wheel drive 4300 had a dt 817 cu.in. motor same as td 25 crawler that's a big motor

4300 what. I think he's asking about 4300 Truck. There was no 4300 Tractor, 45 and 47 series had the big 800 cu in motor. 43 series had 466.

the 4300 tractor was out before the 4100- 4156 -4166 tractors only about 55 were made that's what I was talking about ,my neighbor has one DT 817 and Allison auto trans

they made a 4300 from 61 to 65 they didn't do well because it was too big to fast, I was wondering if that motor would fit in a 66 series.

you can do anything you want if you throw enough money at it that motors as big as a 855 cummins and heavy and very costly to rebuild

Hell I know where one is, I thought it was an old Loader that someone had knocked the cab and loader off of to make it into a sileage packer, that's what they use it for.

I was told once that a 4300 had a R D injector pump like the 806 no doubt a bigger head thats my question does any one no if u could put that head on an RDon an 806

The DT817 was also used in 100 and 120 Hough Loaders, TD25 Dozers and other industrial applications.

Don't know for sure, but pretty sure it won't just bolt up. I believe it is the same bolt pattern as the big V8 which will interchange with the 855 cummins. Have seen several TD's with the V8's replaced with 855 cummins. Wouldn't qualify legal NTPA because only 45 tractors were made with that motor....International 4300......NTPA requires 150 built.
