Call John Shurue [Just johns] can tell you what to do and can swap some parts already modified [water pump, flywheel, need 4430 oil pan few things .I think titan 2 and later have bigger bolt pattern .I just put 7720 in 4010 radiator is close but works its a farm tractor tinker toy.bolt pattern the same grind notch where bellhousing bolts together for hydraulic line not a bad project if much of mechanic. john 812-591-2144 812-525-1963 Seymour IN. |

Any A-pump block bolts right up. P-pump blocks have a larger bolt pattern, look for frame rails from a 4840 if p-pump is what you want. 8.1's will fit but then you are going to have to get creative with the cooling system. Depending on turbo, you might have turbo clearence issues under the hood. |

obvious
|
I am 110% sure 4840 frame rails will not work on a 4020 G Man |

ok, if you say so. |
Re: 466 in a 4020

Guess again
|
Assuming you are referring to the bolt pattern for the front mount on frame, I beg to differ on the statement that all A pump blocks have the small bolt pattern.........I have 2 A pump blocks that are the big bolt pattern. |

We have one. Purchased a new Turbocharged 466 engine with A pump from Superior Diesel in Rhinelander Wisconsin in about 1990. Bolted right in with the exception of turbo clearance. Still use it on the farm today--sweet running tractor. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/29/2015 02:28AM by Babler Farms. |

what did you do with the turbo clearace issue? |
Re: 466 in a 4020

I piped my out to the front just behind the nose. I used a combine manifold. |

Here are a few pictures of the conversion we did. |

You need to get a 4320 exhaust elbow and piece of pipe 5 3/4 inches long John has those on shelf got one few weeks ago when I put 4430 manifolds on 4230 had to trim edge of hood just a tiny bit for muffler but straight pipe will fit ok .Works perfect on 4010 . |

We were going to do the same thing in our 4230, and instead put a turbo charged 404 in from a 7700 combine (brother's tractor, he made the decision not me lol). Very straight forward swap and I've compared the tractor to the 4020 we have since we also have a 466 motor sitting in the corner of the shed just waiting for my project tractor in the near future. If you're using the combine motor, you'll need to use the tractor's oil pan, 2 piece water manifold (separate/split it, install new gaskets, then invert/flip the manifold around so that you have it offset and away from the charger for clearance), tractor water pump and fan - this will get close on the 4010 radiator. Might as well replace the clutch while you're there... that 4010 won't like the power of the charger and inline A pump if you have it turned up too hot. I included a pic of how we plumbed the turbo system on our 4230. We used a 4430 exhaust elbow with the combine manifold, then had the hood cut and filled for the new stack when we did the full restoration last winter. Fun swap. Would love to do another one, and could knock it out in a weekend easily if I had all the parts and fluids there ready to go. |
