Is the P8600 legal in the NTPA 4.1 LPS? I called Richwine but have heard back from him. |

The 8600 pump isn't legal in any class bye the rules. They are an aftermarket recasted housing pump from rocker tec. Bosch never built an 8600 pump. They built an 8500 series which is used on Mack trucks. If 8600 pumps are legal and recast housings are legal then shouldn't My recast housing sigma which isn't any bigger in physical size be legal? It could be called a 8550 series. Before any one tells me how wrong I am. Please correct me if Bosch built an 8600 pump and what did it come on? |

4.1 puller

better read rules again. says no after market housings. also says oem heads not steal ones know there are some out there currently running them. easy to cheat when no one tecks them... |

Wrong
|
It is wrong that the sanctioning bodies are letting the 8600 pump run. Especially when they can't tell you they are legal. All they say when you ask them about the 8600 series pump is any "p series pump no bigger than a 7100 series and no recast housings" the pump is illegal in many differnt ways first being a recast housing and second it was never a factory production pump unless you consider rocket tec to be the same as Bosch. The clubs need to put there foot down and enforce the rules. |

Don't know the rule implications but, It's not a re-cast and it doesn't originate from Rocken. They are used on large engines manufactured and used overseas. I bought a couple and can buy them anytime. Ive only found them in 6 plunger versions though.

Foreign = Chinese. Sorry... But they are used on real oem engines. |
Re: P8600 question

Correct!!!
|
Buster you are correct. There are several diesel injection factory's in China. Many of them build replacement parts and many of them manufacture complete injection pumps by their own design and the PZ pump in fact one of them. Some of you keep calling this 8600 pump a Re cast, it's NOT a recast BECAUSE it is NOT a copy of anything else and comes factory on CHINESE diesel engines! |
Re: P8600 question
|
??
|
From what you just told everyone the pump is not legal. It is not made bye Bosch. It has to be made bye Bosch to be a P-series pump-- that is there trade mark for sizing and anything other is a recasted model. From what you are saying if China makes a sigma looking pump and calls it a Pzz it would be legal?? Or did you explain something wrong. |
Re: P8600 question

curious
|
Where in the rules does it say it has to be made by Bosch? Page number please. What about the Denso P-pump that has been run for years? Where in the rule book does it define EXACTLY what a P-pump is? Page number please. We need clariification. |
