I am curious as to how many cubic inches you can bore out of the AC 301 diesel block? |
Re: AC 301 Bore?

Easily 362 but there are 405ci out there running strong. |

Is that with turbo? Cause if so I am wondering how far it could go naturally aspirated. |

So would it be possible to bore the 301 and use 426 pistons and sleeves in it? |
Re: AC 301 Bore?

I don't know about 426 sleeves. I think the sleeve might be longer. The 426 is a 4.250 bore which is what I run. The JD 404 sleeve would be easier. |

Telling me 420-464 and 500+ is just with bore? No stroke at all out of a 301 diesel block? |

No
1/2 to 5/8 stroker. 4.4 bore is a safe limit. |

Have to stroke for 500+. Can make 405 for sure on just bore with heavy sleeves |

4.5" bore and 5.25" stroke equals 500 cubes !!! must have rod journals the diameter of a Briggs&Stratton. |

2" rod journal, bore can go bigger than 4.5 for a NA gas motor |

The class I would be building it for I would be limited to 2400 rpm (20% over factory rpm) and has a 5mph speed limit. What setup (sleeves as well as how much stroke) would allow me to get the most cubic inches out of the 301 block without it becoming a ticking timebomb? |

Not sure of your rules but the stock CI will work ok a 362 will be your easy and most inexpensive way by far |

The way the rules are set up, cubic inches are worth their weight in track distance. To be even somewhat competitive I will need my guess at least 420 ci. |

At 2400rpm and 5mph not knowing your rules with pump and turbo size and weight class it's hard to say. Hope you have a rather fat piggy bank |
