1992 Pulling Season Points Purse December 26, 2015 11:03AM
Looking back at some old files and documents I have, I found the SRO/PACE 1992 indoor winter schedule, purse and points payout.
7200 lb modified tractors points payout, 1st $20,000, 2nd 15k; 3rd 13k, 4th $12K; 5th $10k; 6th $8k; 7th $7k; 8th $6k; 9th $5k; 10th $4k.
Purse paid 1st $1,000; 2nd $800 on down to 10th, $5,090 for the class.

The $20,000 in today's dollars would be $34,055.

There were 19 hooks, at 9 locations, about half were 3 hooks at a pull, a couple were 1 hook, the rest were 2 hooks.
TWD had more hooks than modified tractors.

In 1988 the mod class paid $1,750 for first, $9,000 for the class. That is $3,542 and $18,200 in 2015 dollars. It really makes me feel like we have not gained in 27 years!!!!

I was in college at the time and I still remember the 6 pack of bud on the weight box; the "red man" tour for tnt and the us tobacco for ntpa. Now none of those or anything similar is out there. ppl has a package of sponsors led by "lucas" products but no wrangler, carhart or some variation. Until the sponsors are interested in our product the payday will never be at the level it should for the investment required.

Maybe in your spare time Rich, you could go see your local truck dealer and see if they will give a truck to ESP or NYTPA

I tried, I was told that they would only accept a Hudson Pickup, I have been unable to find a dealer!
