I'm looking for some info on putting a Genesis or 7.8 out of a new Holland combine in a 8600 I did a search but did find much. I heard you have to leave out a few bolts that bolt it to the transmission? If that's true would you be scared of it being a weak spot. Thanks for any help. |

Use the Genesis NOT the 7.8
With the right oil pickup tube you can even put the 401 oil pan on it. Then you can use all the factory bolts much easier. |

Thanks for the help could you guide me in the right direction on building the genesis to pull 12 mph classes. Who to get a cam from,where to get fire rings,witch injectors, a pump or sims pump. And what would be a good turbo. I don't have to have first class stuff. Thanks |

Can = Riverside
Other Engine Parts = Riverside Injectors = Wimer Injection pump = Wimer or Hart Turbo = Hart or Wimer Take your time and build it right the first time, cause if you don't it will cost you more in the end. |

I have a fresh Genesis going together that I will sell hat to pan. Would be ideal for that class, it's set up with a big Simms pump also. If you're interested post back here, Thanks. |

Should be a data plate on the valve cover that will tell you what you need to know. |

Square looking valve cover Genesis.
Valve cover looks like 401 is 7.8 What age was the combine? Would have to be around 1994 or later for be Genesis Vogel had a very good grind for that. You DON"T need fire rings. Use head gasket for an 8970 |

New Holland used the Gensis motor in the TR89 and TR99 and the CR920 and CR940. |

So did the later series tr86 and 96 not run a genisis? The number on the side of the block is E5HN6015AE. |

That's a 474 for sure. Got one just like it at home, same part number on the block |

Correct... The TR86 and TR96 is the truck motor. If you use a CR920 or CR940 or even the TM190 and TM175, thats a new generation block. Its a brand new casting, so the "mold" has tighter tolerences as since its new. How you can tell if its a newer block on the one side there is a spot where you can pin the crank. |

Thanks guys for the help, guess I need to look for another engine. Can I use the head off the 7.8 on my 401 block until I find a genisis? Or any other parts to get little more this year? Thanks again for all the help you have given me. It is greatly appreciated! |
