I have a 2.8, 2.9, and a 3rd gear with a 13/51 ring and pinion, if I put a faster ring and pinion in a 13/49, what will the gears become? Since there is 2 teeth difference on the ring gear, do i just ad 2 teeth to each transmission gear? Thank you |

With a 13/49 ring and pinion each gear would be about 4 percent faster not quite one tooth faster for each gear. Each tooth on the speed trans gears would be about 6 percent difference. |

Don't be confused by the first post. By running the 13/49 ring and pinion it is about 4% faster, that makes everything 4% faster. If you mess around changing your speed gears or constant mesh, those are about 6% per tooth.
What I'd like to know though, what is a 2.8 and 2.9 gear? What is the tooth count? That's all that really matters. Does that make them 1 and 2 teeth under 3rd? Know your tooth counts, not what 2.8 or whatever the guy told you it was supposed to be. |

Wipe Out, on the builders page, has an exellent ratio/ground speed calculator spread sheet, if you know you constant mesh and gear teeth counts. works for pulling tractors, trucks or a drag car, for that matter. |

No problem, sometimes it needs to be simplified for those who are new to the game. Wipe Out's spreadsheet is great, a simple gear and constant mesh page on Allied's site is helpful if you don't have Excel. |

What is factory bull pinion and bull gear count in a 706 rear end? |

Just curious, the wipeout calculator says for IH ground speed. This will work for ALL applications, including non-IH and non-tractor pulling?? Does it matter about bull gear vs. planetary?? |

13 on the bull pinion and 73 on the bull gear |
