Identify this exhaust housing March 04, 2016 10:31AM
Needing help identifying this exhaust housing. Holset 3x3 ,looks like HX50
,need to know exhaust housing size as numbers are ground off.

Won't be able to tell for sure by looking at a picture of it. If the numbers are ground off the outside look in the exhaust inlet they should be cast inside the housing. Just guessing I'd say a 17 or 19

Nothing stamped on inside of housing.

Looks like a 22 , had one on a hx50 once , is it a 5 inch flange for exhaust pipe to clamp on ? Or a 4 inch ?

Ran a 17 ,19 , an 22 . The 22 had the 5 inch exhaust clamp , the other 2 did not , but if I remember there was a 25 ? I never ran nor seen it , so maybe that could be what you have . Excell engineering sold a lot of those hx50 in the day , you might want to call them and or send them pictures of what you have .hope that helps you

Thanks Red, I think this one was built by J&J. Was there such a place?, I think the guy passed away. This was on a superfarm, not sure how big the motor was.
