John Deere 4020 Hot Farm Build July 24, 2016 08:28AM
I recently picked up a 69 JD 4020 rolling chassis. Looking to build a hot farm. I have a 404T with an A pump out of a 4430. Is it worth building the 404 ? Or would i be money ahead building a JD466. I believe rules are 600ci max. Not looking to build a winner, I just want to break into the class on the cheaper side and do relatively well. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

You would be money ahead building a 466 in my opinion, hi performance parts are easier to come by and less of a headache when you decide you want to build it up. With the 466 you can go many different ways with it too.

What class are you building for? True hot farm or too hot to farm? As in a hot farm stock
