359 John Deere August 14, 2016 01:13PM
Anyone ever build a John Deere 359 motor that would compete with the Dt-360 and 5.9 cummaparts?
Here is the catch, 380 cubes, 2.3" turbo, p-pump 3k rpm. No de-cubing.

Any of the jds that are of German built are very light duty ( rotating assembly) .
what about a 4010 with the stock bore and stroke they were 360. Does it have to stay 380 or less.

Stock 4010 diesel was 380 from the factory.

Well.... I was originally thinking the 359 was a cross flow head, and maybe had more "newer" technology. Be better than starting with the 380 block. And a couple of places I think have a 360 cubic in limit in stead of the 380 limit.
Figured either way you have to belt drive an inline pump cause neither block would accept the p-pump very easily.
