I've seen many 18.4 tires on 18, even 20 inch rims. Some probably go wider yet. I have even seen a 15.5 on an 18" rim!

im looking to build a hot stock puller, I currently have 18.4x38 on the tractor. i picked up a set of 20.8x42, do you know what would work better and be more cost affective

I have 20.8 r38 on 22 " wide rims. Seen 18's on 20" but u might check ur rules our rules are 20.8 r38 or 18.4r42 we cant run 20.8r42. there reasoning is the 42" tire has a bigger foot print so the 18.4r 42 are pretty close to same foot print as a 20.8r38. whether or not that's a fact or just a dumb rule idk.
