Can one really pour aluminium in a cast iron head and get it to fill completely? And to stay tight in there... doesn`t it schrink when it cools down? |

You have to heat the cast iron up to 400+ degrees then pour it in and let it cool together, I know several people who have done this. It works good b/c you can machine into it and it does not damage the tools like HB or somthing would |

I am wondering that if you machine into the aluminum on the exhaust port, will the aluminum hold up to the exhaust temperature? I know that heads are made of aluminum for the Duramaxs but they have water in them to cool the aluminum. I always thought about filling a head with aluminum but was worried that it would melt in the exhaust port. |

I should clarify that the tractors that I know this is done to are not diesels, does not mean it won't work I just don't know of any. |
