Supply pump options
|
I'm looking for input. Trying to decide with way to go for a fuel supply pump for 800cc p pump. Should I go with a mechanicalor electric air dog/ fass pump? Thanks for any input. |

I am running wimmer pump it drives off your injection pump and there not too pricey and it works well |

Some of the newer , bigger electric pumps might do the job but I wouldn't take the chance. A gear drive or belt drive fuel pump is your best bet. We had a gear drive and really liked it. When we went to external oil we added another section to the pump for fuel and really like that. You need volume and pressure , failure to maintain both could lead to injection pump problems. |

on a ford I used a fairly large hydraulic gear pump good for bout 4000 rpm in the spot where the steering pump would normally be? runs half the speed of the engine,, only draw back is if pump loses shaft seal? and fills your engine with diesel..yes it can happen... |
