how is the best way to get a 401 up to around 500ci .have heard you can change crankshaft and other parts with the 456 or 474 to help.can anyone give some help

456 crank might work if you dont mind doing a bit of clearance work? here and there, have heard of fellas adding a deck plate to the top and after boring, shoving dry sleaves through deck plate into block? 456 crank from the lower hp genesis? have the same 6 bolt flywheel pattern as the 401 Am sure others with actual experience will correct me and point you in right direction

what jim said with the 456 crank and then a 4 5/8 bore. that should get you to 504.

A 474 crank and cat 3208 pistons will get you to 496 cu. in. Need to bore block to 4.5". Depending on your boost level, cylinders are getting thin.
