how is the best way to get a 401 up to around 500ci .have heard you can change crankshaft and other parts with the 456 or 474 to help.can anyone give some help |

456 crank might work if you dont mind doing a bit of clearance work? here and there, have heard of fellas adding a deck plate to the top and after boring, shoving dry sleaves through deck plate into block? 456 crank from the lower hp genesis? have the same 6 bolt flywheel pattern as the 401 Am sure others with actual experience will correct me and point you in right direction |

what jim said with the 456 crank and then a 4 5/8 bore. that should get you to 504. |

A 474 crank and cat 3208 pistons will get you to 496 cu. in. Need to bore block to 4.5". Depending on your boost level, cylinders are getting thin. |
