Ford 8000 axle housing March 07, 2017 11:36AM
Looking for information on a ford 8000 i'm making into a puller. Bought some tie bars and wheelie bars but the brackets that bolt to the axle housing don't line up. Looks like the part number for the axle housing is c7nn4010c. The number stamped into my housing is c7nn4198c. Any ideas what the difference is. Talked to the place I bought the parts from and they were as puzzled as I am. Any advice would be appreciated

are your axle shafts keyed to the wheel hub? or do you have the later axle with the 2 tapered sides on it? only difference I can think of? is there a chance that you might be putting the left hand stuff on the right side?and vice versa??

I believe it is keyed axles. All the plates are the same for both sides. Supplier said the plates they sent me match their mocked up housing. Can't find anything on the internet about this topic. According to serial number it is a 1970 model.

I bought a set from Haslag a few years ago and they didn't fit on my '68 ford 8000 I had to grind some corners and make new holes. Wasn't really looking for a project after spending all the $ on them

The axle housing bolt pattern is all the same from the early 68 8000 threw the 30 series tractors, all used the same mounting gasket, however there is a difference in the upper bolt pattern verses the lower pattern as to only let you install the axle on the center housing one way.
