You can use a 560 through 806 gas crank, or the 282 diesel crank. The block can be bored to the 291 bore. Other than that you'll be spending more with stroking the crank and custom pistons. |

301's and 301 blocks are overrated. Take your 221 block to the machine shop and get it bored to .060 over 301 bore. Get a crankshaft from a 263/291/301or 282 diesel with the 4.39 stroke. Call up bullet cams in olive branch ms, talk to sonny and tell him you want a .503 lift 301 cam ground. Silver diamond truck head with an 806 gas valve train kit installed. You'll have a brand new engine with 10:1 compression and 125 hp. Will run on 91 octane pump gas and be stone cold reliable. Screw that 12:1 race gas 5.5" stroke stuff. Takes the fun out of farmstock when you're spending that much on it. |

What are you looking to do here? By that, I mean are you planning to use it in a pulling application and if you are what type of class? |

Your best bet would be to buy a 291 or a 301 and depending on your application boring and stroking will help alot. For a head you need to go with a silver diamond truck head and get it ported with bigger valves. |
