1135 massey in a 8500 farm stock? March 30, 2017 10:26AM
Does anyone know if it is possible or realistic to try to get an 1135 into an 8500 lb farm stock class? Just toying with the idea. Any knowledge or experience would be helpful. Thanks

what are your rules ? there are ways to get the perkins 354 to run but if you are running against a bunch of dt466s it will be a tough task to win.
And a 1135 chassis will make 8500 lb pretty easisly

Did you read the for sale page?

yes I saw the 1155 that pulls in 7500. I wonder how much stuff he had to lose to get down to that weight.

They seem to let just about anything go. There is a 7710 ford that should be in a hot farm class and hasn't worked in a field in a long time. No 466s yet. They don't get too excited about 1150 s with narrow front and tin wheels running 9500 lb farm so I don't think they would get too worked up about it. The guy with the ford would get all pissed but really don't care.

Your right on that 7710 ford guy. He has it for sale now. 20k. Will be happy to be rid of the rule bending for my tractor only guys.

Where is it listed? Is it at his dealership or somewhere else?

I have a Massey with an 1135 rearend, 8-speed transmission, and 365 Perkins.

It has a full tube frame with 3-bar rollcage, 18.4s, and stock top hood and grille.

It weighs in at 6200#

Where do you pull and are you anywhere on YouTube?

We pull in East Central Illinois with the Illiana Pullers Association.

Here is our youtube channel:

All these runs were on our old 354 in 2nd-High and we have just finished building and dyno-ing our new 365 12-port head with a P-Pump.

How about putting a 372 block from a combine into an 1135? I can see the crank, bellhousing and front cover would have to be swapped. just wonder if anyone has any insight into actually doing it.

We are now running our 365 Perkins with a P-Pump.

We are having some great luck with the motor. It has taken a lot of work and Jason Ervin from Kentucky has gotten things figured out. We seem to have more power we can make and we think this really is a good option for the smaller cubic inch Masseys.

Just an update on the 1135 project. Taking longer because other things to do on the farm but it appears that the crank doesn't have to be changed because the combine engine crank is splined on the front and it looks like the it will work with the hydraulic pump just fine. (don't have it in yet). However, we have to get the intake and exhaust manifolds from a white 2-105 because the bolt holes for the manifolds are not using the same holes as the combine cylinder head. We could drill out the exhaust manifold so that will work but I am able to get parts off a donor 2-105. I will be using this on the farm but want to pull it sometimes too.
