New puller. July 24, 2017 01:13AM
I'm new to the pullin world. Grew up around it my whole life but now I want to get my own. I'm wanting to start a generation of pullers with me and my son. I will be pulling in the Midsouth pullers association. I know I'm gone be either light super stock and light limited and I think those would be the cheaper classes to run. I know a 1066 is to heavy so I will prolly go a 706 with 1066 sheet metal. But I'm also wondering bout a D21 allis. Which would be better stronger to run and which would be cheaper and easier to find parts and stuff. Thanks in advance.

I am not sure if anyone is running a D-21 rear end in the limited light super, maybe Allen Moore is with Ol Rags. Believe most Allis guys are running 180 style rears. The D-21 is fairly heavy and would probably require a lot of grinding. However, I know several of the guys are running the 426 block.

IH is definitely going to be the cheapest and parts will be much easier to find just because of supply and demand. There are probably 30 IHs for every Allis.

One thing i would check is the rules in the LLSS. Light supers can run any motor, sheet metal, rear end combo they want. However, I am not sure what the rules are for the LLSS.

There is a guy on here that goes by Lewis who I am sure could give you some advice on building a LLSS on a budget. I do not know him personally.

Good luck!
